For the 10th Annual Costumes for Kids Drive, LAZER’s goal was to get as many Iowa kids in Halloween costumes as possible. This year, between the generosity of our listeners and our phenomenal partnership with Goodwill of Central Iowa, over $3,400 was raised. Those donations were then used so that Heather and Wickett could shop for costumes, accessories, and Trick-Or-Treat buckets.
All the costumes were then donated to Children and Families of Iowa. This local non-profit organization distributes the costumes to kids who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford one.
We’d also like to share our gratitude to the Costume Caravan provided by Iowa Auto Exchange to deliver the costumes.
We collected new and gently used costumes at the LAZER studios throughout the 3-week campaign. Plus, Goodwill hosted two “round-up” weekends in which every purchase made by Goodwill shoppers was allowed to “round-up” to the nearest dollar, with all that money going directly to our cause.
“The partnerships in this campaign and the generosity of our Hellraisers truly show what it means when a community comes together. Our goal is to ensure every child can Trick-Or-Treat in style no matter what, and this year was a wonderful success. We’re thankful for everyone who donated.” – LAZER 103.3 Director of Content Wes Styles.
“There’s a lot in this world we can’t fix, but helping a kid forget their troubles for one night? That’s something we can do. Rallying the LAZER Hellraisers, collecting costumes, and bringing a little Halloween magic to families who need it most… that’s what feeds our souls. Grateful to everyone who had a hand in this labor of love, thanks Goodwill of Central Iowa and Iowa Auto Exchange for teaming up with us to make it happen.” – Heather & Wickett
