The “Field of Dreams” game is finally happening and people are PUMPED UP. For one day, Iowa will the epicenter of Major League Baseball when the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees face off August 12th in Dyersville! (Cubs fans will get to see recently traded Anthony Rizzo in Yankee pinstripes and Craig Kimbrel in black & white…so, yeah?)

Wanna go to the game? You better be ready to spend some SERIOUS money.

Iowans were able to register for the 8,000 available tickets a few weeks ago. The “winners” were then able to buy a ticket for $375 EACH (plus fees, of course).

I know a more than a few baseball fans around the state that are upset they didn’t win the lottery but are even more upset that some of the “winners” either just wanted to flip the tickets on the secondary market for profit or had no plans of actually attending the game but wanted to make money. (By the way, that’s their prerogative. #capitalism). Cheapest ticket on Stubhub? As I write this, they’re $1,393 (plus fees of course). There’s also a $12,000 ticket available if you’re so inclined.

1st pitch comes at 6:15 on 8/12 and you can watch the game on ESPN. It will be cool to see the game played in our state and if you’ve invested in the tickets, I hope you enjoy the game! PLAY BALL!
