Bring Me the Horizon formed in Sheffield, England in 2004 and released their debut album two years later. It’s been quite a journey over the last 18 years. A couple of member changes, three different record labels, six studio albums, two Grammy nominations, a BRIT Award nomination and five NME Award nominations to name a few.
Somewhere in there too, the band seems to shift their sound with each album keeping both fans and critics on their toes. Pulling influence from the heavy like Pantera and Metallica, to the emo/screamo/death core of Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, BMTH has mastered mixing those things that inspired them with pretty much every other genre of music there is, with perhaps the exception of country and gospel.
While I have yet to find a title or release date for a new album from them, they are at least helping to tide us over with their latest single and the mini horror movie video that goes with it. And honestly, it makes me think of the opening scene of the 1998 film, Blade staring Wesley Snipes Stephen Dorf and one Traci Lords…yes that Tracie Lords. Traci lures an unsuspecting male into a secret party full of vampires.
As you can see, the video for “DiE4u” definitely has a similar vibe:
Bloody good fun!
