It’s been awhile….

Since we’ve had new Staind. But the 12 year wait is over!  The Springfield, Mass Nu Metalers are back with a brand new album, Confessions of the Fallen, due out in September.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the band dropped the first single, “The Lowest In Me” and I’m happy to report, this is not another Staind ballad! This one actually harkens back  Dysfunction, their debut album that dropped heavy hitters like “Suffocate”, “Just Go”, and “Mudshovel”.

In an interview with Blabbermouth, Lewis said:

“I did want to modernize the sound and bring us up to date. You can certainly recognize the band but at the same time you can hear that we’ve been paying attention and understand what kind of sounds and approaches we can use that maybe weren’t around the last time we did this.”

During their 12 year hiatus, guitarist Mike Mushok founded Saint Asonia in 2015 with former Three Days Grace singer, Adam Gontier and Aaron Lewis went full on country, and often used his shows to express his views of the country and a lot of other things. YouTube is full of colorful videos with Lewis on his proverbial soap box.

Mushok said that it all started a couple of years ago that they had been “kicking around” some songs and ideas, sorting thru things to see if anything would work out. From the sounds of this new track, they worked out quite well.

Stain hits the road with Godsmack with the tour kicking off in St Louis, MO on July 18th.
