It’s the time of year when bridal expos start popping up so couples everywhere can start planning their nuptials. Every bride has grand ideas for the perfect wedding, but what if you want something different? What if you want to get married at a big rock show? What if you want a rock star to officiate your ceremony?
Let me introduce you to the inaugural Honeymoon Rock Fest. This first of its kind festival brings together a collection of bands that I’m sorry, I can only call past their prime, for three days of rock and vows. Yes, you can purchase a wedding package that will get you into the festival and get you hitched in between band performances.
March 18th thru the 20th at Remington Park in Oklahoma City, a line up of Puddle of Mudd, Fuel, Eve 6, Scott Stapp, Saliva, Powerman 5000, Tantric, Sugar Ray, Candlebox and Everclear and more, will not only bring back the nostalgia with songs you remember from years ago, but members of said bands, will serve as the officiant for you and your spouse-to-be.
The concept sounds cool and mass weddings aren’t exactly new. It’s a way to get married, save some money that can be used on your reception or an actual honeymoon. In this case, get married and honeymoon for three days at the festival. But the lineup, at least to me, is a bit…lackluster. I mean, I wouldn’t expect Metallica or anything, but this line up feels like someone came up with a concept and then had to scrape the barrel for the lineup. Not to mention, with all the troubles that Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin has had?? That could worse than your drunk uncle embarrassing the crap out you at the reception.
