Growing up, I always thought the Grinch lived in a cave somewhere in the North in mountains covered in snow; you know, Mt. Crumpit, overlooking Whoville. Apparently it’s in Boulder, Utah and you can spend the night in it.
A rental company called Vacasa is offering stays in a 5700 square foot cave with the full Grinch-filled experience. This two bedroom, two bathroom is a replica of the Grinch’s pad in the story of Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
The furniture, the organ, the lighting and books, even the Grinch’s wardrobe, all will give you the feel of being right in his home. There is no TV, no internet; only beautiful views of the Utah mountainside. The best part is the price: Just $19.57 a night! That price is in honor of the year it was released.
Bookings are available from December 13th thru the 23rd on the Vasca site.
There’s even a full virtual tour of the cave. Pay close attention to the “portraits” that line the wall of the staircase to the upper bedroom.
As a bonus, since I’m feeling the Grinchy spirit, check out my friends, Small Town Titans with their version of the theme song, “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”
