Earlier this month, Foo Fighters played the first of two tribute shows to their late drummer, Taylor Hawkins. Several drummers sat at the kit during the six hour show, including Taylor’s 16-year-old son, Shane. It was emotional on so many levels to say the least.

The second show happened on Tuesday night at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and while this show was not live streamed like the London show was, video is finding its way to the world wide web.

Once again, a multitude of guests joined together for this six hour celebration of life, including Shane. This time around, Shane sat in for two songs; “My Hero”, like he did in London, and “I’ll Stick Around”.

Shane is special. He plays just like his dad. Fast, furious and feverish. I’m sure sitting there in his dad’s spot is difficult and hopefully healing at the same time. Playing his songs, exhibiting the same animalistic style as his father, it seems to force a smile thru the tears and definitely brings the goosebumps. And to watch how Pat, Nate and Dave all look at Shane thru the performance, it’s like a whole collection of proud papas watching their boy absolutely crush it.

I’m not sure what the future holds for Foo Fighters but if there is anyway for them to move forward and carry on, it’s with Shane behind the kit.

Here’s a few different fan shot perspectives of the performance which was nothing short of phenomenal.
