This past Saturday the first of two Taylor Hawkins Tribute concerts took place at Wembley Stadium in London. With a huge lineup of artists all coming together to not only honor the late Foo Fighters drummer, but raise funds for two incredible charities, Music Support and MusiCares.
The event on its own was incredibly special. Then something truly spectacular took place. Taylor’s son, Shane, sat behind the kit to play the Foo’s smash hit, “My Hero”.
In one short song, Shane captured the world in moments of awe, watching him play just as hard as his father did. The joy and the pain that came with the reality of what was happening, and the goosebumps that broke out as this celebration fully engulfed everyone involved.
I’ll let the performance speak for itself.
The next show is September 27th in Los Angeles. Even if we can’t make it to the gig, you can still purchase some pretty cool merch from the shows and of course proceeds will go to the two charities. The show is also streaming here on Paramount+
